ということで、エリア別紹介は「十日町エリア」から。東京からもっとも近いエリアで、大地の芸術祭の玄関口。里山十帖からも市街地まで車で20分と、すぐそこの距離です。里山十帖にはレンタカーのご用意もあるため送迎でお越しの方でもお楽しみ頂けます。
【越後妻有里山現代美術館 MonET】
中核施設となるのが、芸術祭会期以外も美術館として年中公開されている「越後妻有里山現代美術館 MonET」。2003年に完成した交流館が現代美術館にリニューアルしたのは2012年のこと。そして2021年、再び大幅な内装のリニューアルを経て、「越後妻有里山現代美術館MonET」（モネ、Museum on Echigo-Tsumari）として新たにスタートしています。
目玉となる作品のひとつが中央の池に展開する不思議な空間、レアンドロ・エルリッヒの「Palimpsest: 空の池」（作家名の敬称略）以前に東京六本木の森美術館で開催された展覧会が大きな話題になったので、「あ！」と思う方も多いことでしょう。
概念的なアート作品から、子供が楽しめる空間、さらに喫茶やライブラリーの機能をもつ「サロンMonET」も併設。シアターでは、越後妻有に関連する映像作品や記録映像、長編映画を上映されています。また回廊には、株式会社良品計画がデザイン監修をしたコミュニティスペースもあり、地域の住民や来訪者が交流し、触発しあう、開かれた創造の場にもなっています。
MonETでは2-3時間はあっという間。たっぷり時間をとって訪ねてください。

That’s why we recommend choosing one area at a time, and really enjoying it deeply.
Our first recommendation: Tokamachi, the closest area to Tokyo and the gateway to the Triennale.
It’s just a 20-minute drive from Satoyama Jujo, and we offer rental cars, so even guests using our shuttle service can explore freely.
Echigo-Tsumari Satoyama Museum of Contemporary Art – MonET
A core facility of the festival, MonET is open year-round—not just during the Triennale.
Originally opened in 2003 and completely renovated in 2021, this space blends cutting-edge art with local culture.
One of the must-see works is “Palimpsest: Pond of Sky” by Leandro Erlich,
a surreal installation that appears to reflect the sky in a central pond.
(You might recognize the artist from his popular Tokyo exhibit at Mori Art Museum!)
MonET isn’t just for art lovers.
There’s a kid-friendly play zone, a theater showing local films, a reading café, and even a community space designed by MUJI.
Plan to spend 2–3 hours here—it’s more than worth it.
